Gran Gran Foods

When local produce meets passionate artisans, magic happens; that’s the story of Gran Gran foods. Jams, chutneys, dressings, dips and sauces, you name it — Condiments are this family-owned company’s speciality. Nigel and Magaly, both with professional culinary experience, combine the finest ingredients and their expertise to craft products of restaurant-quality, but with the flavour and comfort of home. Since 2014, the couple has grown the business locally and throughout Ireland. Nigel’s memories of playing in Gran Gran’s kitchen inspired the company name. They are thrilled to bring a delicious and heart-warming taste of home to your doorstep.

The Foods of Athenry

Behind "The Foods of Athenry" is an enthusiastic farm family. Like many farm families they began baking deliciously healthy food for their own kitchen table. In bringing up their family they believed that 'good food promotes good health' and this forms their company ethos. Offering cereals, cookies, flapjacks, crackers and tasty treats, The Foods of Athenry has reinvented good baking to suit modern dietary needs. There’s no shortage of gluten-free, dairy-free, and sugar-free products in Athenry’s catalogue. And according to owner Siobhan Lawless “should you believe in the mysteries of the Universe, my grandparents owned one of the largest bakeries in the West of Ireland a hundred years ago”.

The Lodge Barna Mustards

Mustard is not one thing, but many. There’s lots of room for creativity! Just look at The Lodge Barn Mustard range and see for yourself. The Mustards include Horseradish, Prosecco & Tarragon, Clove Spiced, Raspberry, Buckie and Old Engine Oil. The Old Engine Oil Mustard which is flavoured with a Scottish Ale of this name was launched at the 2016 Galway International Rally and was given a resounding Revs up. With a motoring background and professional cooking training, the multi-talented Brigid Brophy now crafts some of the most interesting mustards, not only in Galway but the world. You might think you know mustard, but you really don’t until you try Lodge Barna’s spectacular creations.

Kylemore Acres Seasonings

Dry rubs, seasonings and spices. That’s what makes cooking exciting! If you want the finest seasonings in Galway, though, then you might want to see what’s on offer at Kylemore Acres. For an exquisite Irish stew or a hearty chilli, from a shepherd’s pie to a colourful curry. If it’s spices or herbs you need, then Joe and Martina have it. Home-made, all-natural seasonings that are both tasty and healthy. As they say “Why use artificial flavourings and additives when you can cook much tastier and healthier meals using what nature provides?”

Solaris Tea

Galway’s own Master Tea Blender Jörg Müller and his wife Karin are the creators of Solaris Botanicals. Both are qualified Medical Herbalists and specialise in the blending and preparation of whole-leaf organic teas. From its humble beginnings, hand blending small batches of herbal teas, within 3 years they were the proud recipients of 13 Great Taste Awards, secured the Best Irish Organic Grocery Award twice and winning the Eurotoque award for outstanding contribution to Irish cuisine. Their description of drinking tea is lovely: “For each freshly brewed cup of tea, a pause is created – to dream and be inspired.”
